Meditation For Beginners
For Peace
Welcome Peace ...
Meditation for beginners
The best meditation for
beginners is a guided meditation.
This is often done in group settings. A group is ideal when you have
already
begun to practice and need some tips. Groups are also a great way to
meet
like-minded people.
The only thing with a group setting is that it can be overwhelming meditating at first. You may be more comfortable if you have your own meditation mp3 to practice with.
To try this at home
first, here are
a few tips on how to meditate -
Make sure the
temperature of the room is comfy.
Take the phone off the
hook. Meditation for beginners is
challenging enough without interruptions.
Do not eat immediately
before meditating, you don't want
to fall asleep.
Sit in a comfortable
chair and allow the energy channels to open clearly for life force to
flow.
Relaxing ...
A good meditation mp3
or meditation CD will begin by
guiding you to
relax. This is done by focusing on one individual part of your body at
a time.
You might just be suprised how much tension you are holding in your
body.
Tension resists energy
flowing freely through your energy
centres, otherwise known as chakras.
Now that you are
relaxed, simply follow directions of the meditation
mp3 or meditation CD. This is
why, for beginners
meditation,
visualization is supportive - there is something to focus your
attention on.
But don't worry if you're not visual.
Engage Your Senses And
Imagine ...
Imagine with as many
senses as you can.
What would the scenario
feel like?
What would you hear, or
even smell?
Meditation
for
beginners is just like doing anything else
for the first time. You won't be a champion straight up. If your mind
wanders,
don't resist it. What you resist persists, so simply acknowledge there
are
thoughts about other things running through your mind. Decide you will
deal with any other situations after the meditation,
and bring
your attention back to the present moment.
When your meditation is
complete, take some time to ground
yourself. If you feel light headed, bend down to the ground and place
both your
hands flat on the floor. This will ground you, bringing you "back to
earth". Give
yourself some time to ponder and reflect on what you saw or felt
throughout
your sacred time.
There may be some
important information that your higher
self is trying to pass to you.
Whether you're advanced or inexperienced,
meditation is nourishment for your soul. It is soothing for relaxation. But most of all, you are consciously
connecting with your Source.
Take your time with it. After all, you're worth it, right?
